Old St Andrews is a company that began its history as a whisky blender. It has been in the whisky business for 75 years, but rose to fame in 1980 thanks to Denis Thatcher, who was often photographed holding a miniature golf ball. Drawing on his blending and distilling skills, he began producing whisky with a unique golf ball shape.Old St. Andrew Fireside 12 Years Whisky is a blended whisky with a light smoky peat flavour that comes from the ancient process of drying malted barley in kilns where peat is used as fuel with the additional notes of grass and moss resulting from the reaction of the alcohol aged for over 12 years in oak barrels .The result is a powerfully warm sensation and a complex finish .
